For some of the top-ranked teams in the state, Friday was all about survival.
Pulaski Academy — considered by many to be unbeatable — survived at War Memorial Stadium when a last-second field goal gave the Bruins a 43-40 victory over Little Rock Parkview.
Little Rock Christian — ranked just behind Pulaski Academy in Class 5A — survived against Little Rock McClellan by a final score of 22-19.
By the way, isn’t it nice to see the Little Rock School District fielding two highly competitive football teams this year?
Bryant, ranked first overall in the state but missing its quarterback due to injury, went to Cabot and survived by a final score of 17-10.
The biggest game to this point in the season in Class 7A will occur this Friday night when No. 1 Bryant hosts No. 2 North Little Rock.
And the biggest game to this point in Class 6A will occur when No 2 West Memphis visits No. 3 Pine Bluff.
Both games should be fun to watch.
