There’s only one week left in the regular season in high school football.
Fayetteville maintains its spot at No. 1 overall following a 56-7 victory over Springdale. But North Little Rock, Bentonville, Springdale Har-Ber and perhaps even Fort Smith Northside appear capable of getting hot in the playoffs and making it to the state championship game at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
Greenwood defeated Sheridan 52-13 on Friday and maintains the No. 1 spot in Class 6A. If the Bulldogs are challenged in the playoffs, it likely will be by Pine Bluff or Jonesboro.
Pulaski Academy remains No. 1 in Class 5A but received a stiff challenge last Friday before escaping with a 22-18 victory over Little Rock McClellan. Wynne, Sylvan Hills, McClellan and perhaps White Hall all have the ability to get rolling at the right time and make it to the championship game.
In Class 4A, it’s Warren, Nashville, Joe T. Robinson and everybody else.
